The beauty of the beach starts just after the entry point and you will be welcomed by one of the most beautiful sceneries just after a few steps forward. A combination of clear sky, blue sea, crystal clear waters, depth of water, and right strength of waves makes it a perfect spot to go for a dive and play in the water for long hours. The shadow of long tropical trees makes the spot more relaxing.

Changing and locker rooms are easily accessible by taking left from the large huts at the center of the beach. You can ask the beach workers for assistance at any time. We do advise new or average swimmers don’t go beyond 10 meters deep from the shoreline. Lifeguards are posted for any emergency from the opening hours of the beach to ensure the safety of everyone.

How to reach Radhanagar beach?

After reaching Havelock, you can hire cab or scooter services near Havelock ferry station but depends on subject to availability. Radhanagar is located at a distance of 11 km and is easily accessible in 30 minutes by road. No ticket counters are there for prepaid taxes, you can go to the parking spot close to Havelock jetty and book your cab to the beach.

Don’t forget to take the contact number of your cab driver so that you get back to the hotel after a fun day.

Public transport buses also pile to Radhanagar beach every 2 hours. Private bus service is not available in Havelock Island.

People who are visiting Havelock for 2 or more days can hire a rental bike to visit Radhanagar. You are suggested to download an offline map of Havelock because of slow internet connectivity. The road to Radhanagar remains pretty empty both day and night.

1. There are no entry fees to visit Radhanagar beach

2. Several shops are available outside the entry point of the beach for refreshments and lunch.

3. No recreational watersports activities are available at Radhanagar Beach but can do snorkeling if you have equipment.

4. Beach opening and closing timings are 6 am to 5 pm respectively.

5. Movement of public transportation is limited, so the pre-booked ride is recommended.

Elephant Beach is a major attraction for people to try some recreational and adventure watersports. There are no Elephants here as the name of the beach indicates. The beach is remotely located in the northern part of Havelock Island and accessible by a boat ride from Havelock Jetty and through 45 minutes of Jungle trekking. It is advised to avoid Jungle trekking in the rainy season as the path will be more slippery.

On arrival at Elephant Beach, You will be welcomed by a shoreline covered with yellowish-white beach adjoining open blue water on one side and tropical green forest on the other. The beachside trees are helpful to stay away from direct sunlight and relax for a while after a full-day adventure.

How to reach Elephant Beach?

The trekking route of Elephant Beach is located approximately 9 kilometers away from the Havelock Jetty. It is the point from where 2 2-kilometer foot trek starts.

Trekking path: The trekking path of Elephant Beach is located on the way to Radhanagar Beach. You can reach the starting point of the trekking route by cab, scooter, or bus. You will see the sign “WAY TO ELEPHANT BEACH” after getting there.

The trek to Elephant Beach is roughly 2 kilometers away from the trekking point and takes approx 30 to 45 minutes to reach there. The route is fully covered with dense tropical jungle preserved under the Andaman administration to the beach. It is recommended to hire a Jungle guide who will be helpful to show you the right path and explain to you various vegetation during the trek.

Note: It is strictly advised to avoid the route during the monsoon season. The path will be quite slippery and risky at that time.

Boat Ride: The other more convenient way to reach Elephant Beach is via waterways. Hire a speed boat from the Havelock Jetty to Elephant Beach, a speed boat will take you to the beach, and after 3 hours the same boat will take you back.

The way to Kalapathar beach is also memorizing. During the journey, you will witness a dense forest area with tall trees on one side and an open sea on the other side. On your way to Kalapathar Beach, you will see multiple patches to see the open water with a white sandy beach on the other side. The beach is calm, and relaxing, and offers a beautiful environment to spend quality time.

You can find a couple of small shops out there for refreshments, fresh coconut water, and snacks.

How to reach Havelock Island?

Havelock Island is situated approx 65 kilometers away from the Capital city (Port Blair) of Andaman. The Island is entirely detached by any means of connectivity such as roads and bridges from other Islands. There is one way to reach Havelock Island that is via waterways. Both Government and private ferries run daily from Port Blair to Havelock and vice versa.

It is the most convenient, readily available, and pocket-friendly way to reach Havelock Island. Government ferries are considered the lifeline of the Andaman Islands.

Phoenix Bay Wharf is the point from where all ferries leave and reach Havelock Island in 2.5 hours. Ferries that reach Havelock via Neil take 4 hours to reach there.

People traveling with a Government ferry are recommended to take a walk out of their cabin to the ferry deck to enjoy the fresh air and wide blue open sea.

How to get ferry tickets?

You can directly go to Marine Ferry station to book your tickets to Havelock. You will have to fill out a form and submit it to the ticket counter. Government ferry tickets are sold fast as it is the most used means of transportation by locals. It is recommended to book your tickets one or two days prior to avoid further complications.
